David will be tackling the full 231km this year solo. We will be talking to him about his preparation and sharing stories and tips from his ultra-racing experience around the world.

At Friday night’s dinner, our guest speaker is Western Arrernte man, Charlie Maher. Charlie is an Indigenous Marathon Project Graduate and has now completed all of the 6 major marathons around the world, most recently being the London Marathon in 2022. One of only about 7000 people in the world and the very first First Nations Australian to have achieved this goal. He will share some of his journey of overcoming demons to becoming a marathon superstar and the super positive change that Robert de Castellas’ Indigenous Marathon Project made to his life. As a Western Arrernte man, Charlie will also share with us the sacred nature and importance of the country that the event traverses.
