ASRWC February News and upcoming events for you

The 2024 ASRWC season has well and truly begun, and we've hit the ground running!!
The Welcome Back Mparntwe was such a tremendous success!! We want to thank you all for making it so special; we had over 160 participants registered, which made for one big welcome back!!
We have the yearly Intersport Fun Run/Walk this Saturday at 7 am ( get there for rego at 6:45!!), and in the afternoon, the West Macs Monster Nutrition and Hydration Talk at 2 pm.
Our Member of the Month is the always-inspiring Kate Mar Fan. Even if you are injured, you can't keep this woman down. Say g'day to her at the Intersport run; she'll be out there cheering for you all as she sweeps the course.
We're almost there with the break in insurance claim. This will allow us to do a sneaky uniform order; keep an eye out for this one in the coming month.
Our March events will pop up on the site soon; we've got the River Run on the 2nd and the Harmony Day Fun Run on the 23rd. The Red Centre Wringer will be opening up for presale in early March, too!! So, definitely keep an eye on socials.
There are lots of things to keep an eye on!! :)

Welcome Back, Mparntwe in The Centralian Today – 8th February 2024
Intersport 2km/4km Fun Run/Walk
The INTERSPORT Alice Springs 2km/4km Fun Run/Walk is happening on February 24th at 7:00 am!! (arrive 15-20mins before for registration)
We need a few vollies to help out on the day, and we want to show our appreciation for your help, too:
Course Marshals - x 4 (how does a coffee on us sound?)
Sweep x 1 (how does a coffee on us sound?)
Course Photographer - x 2 (how does a coffee on us sound?)
The race will start and end at InterSport on Parson's Street in the CBD
Join us for this fun yearly event (going on 41 years now!!) in the Alice Springs Running and Walking Club's calendar.
With race registration, you’re eligible for a 20% discount off footwear, 15% off clothing following the event + random prize draws on the day after the event.
Adult Members: $5.00
Non-Members: $10.00

Our January Member of the Month is.. Kate Mar Fan!!
This is one inspiring lady; she’s starting training for the Berlin Marathon this year!! On top of being an amazing mum, wife, friend and everything in between.
At the Summer Series, she kicked it up a notch and made it to each run on the series with a smile. Kate joined us last week for the Welcome Back Mparntwe Season Launch after a challenging morning and got it done.
She’s one of the run leaders at the Mparntwe Social Running and Walking Club (which I highly recommend checking out) and was a part of the 2019 Indigenous Marathon Project Squad.
We see you, and you inspire us!! We can’t wait to see you kick goals this year and stand (and run) with you whilst you achieve monumental things.

West Macs Monster Volunteer Regos
Alice Springs' very own West Macs Monster Trail Running Festival will again be upon us soon. We need some local or even visiting champs to help the event run safely and smoothly. If you’re unable or not keen to run on the weekend of May 17th - 19th, but would like to get involved this is your time! Many different positions are available along with a lifetime of memories and stories to tell!
Enquire and express your interest to find out more here, and an email will be sent to you outlining the positions available with a brief role description. From there, we can work out what positions and times may best suit you.
The word is getting out about this incredible event, in 2024 we are hosting more participants than we ever have - your help is truly appreciated. This event cannot run without the support of people like you, so thank you.
